29 Jan Best Advice for New Travelers
Dreaming of traveling but worried about worried about what to expect? We recently asked the seasoned travelers of the Travel Nurse Network – The Gypsy Nurse for their best pieces of advice!
First and foremost, find a recruiter that you trust and that has your back. A good recruiter is someone who answers your questions thoroughly and makes you feel at ease, especially if you are new and nervous. Recruiters should be available to you quickly within reason.
Next, do your research! Consider where you want to travel; close to home, far away, big city, small town, city hospital, community health center…the possibilities are endless. Don’t forget to take money into account. Typical travel jobs pay anywhere from $1,500 to $2,500 per week, but it varies depending on the region and specialty.
Finally, talk to someone who has traveled before. It’s easier than ever to connect with seasoned travelers through Facebook groups like the Gypsy Nurse. Having confidence going into your first assignment is always the most important factor!
